Administration Jobs

An administrator is a broadly used term in employment. In short, the office administrator is the one who makes everything run smoothly, and allows more specialized personnel to function efficiently by removing the burden of the nuts and bolts of day to day office operations from others. Typically, this position holds some sway in a company, and is responsible for carrying out the major decisions of others.

However, an administration job also carries with it the burden of setting policies and procedures in its own right. For instance, when to allow breaks, how paperwork gets routed, what modalities to incorporate into smoothly running the office is all largely the purview of the administrator.
Administration jobs may also entail the study of work flows in order to improve efficiency and lower costs in an office. The "easy button" doesn't, of course, actually exist, but a good administrator can make it seem as though it does exist through the use of efficient practices.

It should be mentioned that professional networking is another important aspect of the administration job. Educational workshops, professional publications and professional societies are all elements that need to be thoroughly utilized in maintaining a professional environment.
Administrative jobs can be classified into:
  • Data Entry
  • Virtual Assistant
  • Research
  • Transcription
  • Mailing Lists
  • Customer Service
  • Word Processing
